Let’s face it, everyone is a little curious about makeup regimes. What products does she use to get that look? Why does her skin have that flawless finish?

This month we delve into the makeup bag of New Zealand’s own Leah McCann, handbag designer extraodinaire of the gorgeous Soko range of bags.

Before delving into her makeup bag essentials, we asked Leah how to pick a good handbag:

“First and foremost I think it should be love at first sight, although if you are still thinking about it the next day it is meant to be. Ideal features include thoughtful details that keep the contents of your bag in organised chaos, along with durable materials and colours that compliment your wardrobe.”

Leah’s Makeup Bag Staples:

1: Neutrogena Healthy Defense daily moisturizer SPF 30
Oh so important! Especially in beautiful sunny Gisborne - never skip the sunblock girls!

2: Quoi Mineral Sheer tint SPF 20 porcelain from Quinn Beauty Spa
I love this stuff, I’ve only recently discovered it at Nicola Quinn in Christchurch, but I know you can purchase it online from Quinn Beauty Spa. It’s a lovely light sheer cover foundation, which is nice for everyday wear, it’s slightly luminous and I like the fact it has SPF as I’m big on that.

3: Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich foundation in Porcelain
This is the nicest foundation; I wear this on evening outtings and opt for a sheer coverage during the day.

4: Bobbi Brown gel eye liner in Chocolate Shimmer Ink.

5: Bobbi Brown pot rouge Blushed Rose
Gosh, I’ve had this a while now, you only need the tiniest wee dab, there’s no sign of the bottom yet, it may be a magical never ending pot? Here’s hoping!

6: MAC eye shadow pallet
I love all the colours in this pallet (although I’ve never touched the green). This was a present and was a really lovely gift to receive in a gorgeous little case too.

7: Body Shop eye shimmer
I have it in blue and green and it’s iridescent, really fun and summery looking and you can wear it on its own or blend it with other shades, it’s cool stuff!

8: Maybelline Define a lash mascara
A makeup bag basic!

9: Radiessence bronzer
It’s great gives you a nice glow!

10: Vera Wang princess
So so delicious I can’t leave the house with out a spritz of this. Perfume is actually a huge vice of mine, I love it all the beautiful scents and bottles almost as much as I loooove bags.

11: Coco Chanel Mademoiselle
Another favourite! In fact,  I could go on…and on and on…
